Butt lifts, implants, and fat transfers are among the most popular typed of butt-related plastic surgeries. While these procedures are popular, they aren’t done without risk.
Types of Butt Plastic Surgery
The main reason people get plastic surgery on their bum is to enhance its shape. Of course, different folks have their own reasons. There are different approaches to achieving an individual's booty enhancement goals; implants and fat grafting are two main types.
Augmentation
Butt augmentation with fat grafting (more commonly known as Brazillian Butt Lifts) was one of the most popular cosmetic booty surgeries back in 2015. This procedure entails a surgeon suctioning fat from one area of the body -commonly the flanks, abdomen, or thighs- and injecting it into the patient's bottom to add volume.
Sculptra Butt LiftsThis non-surgical procedure includes an injection using Sculptra. The injection goes into the soft tissue of the butt. The process is supposed to add volume and curve to an individual’s derriere.
Hydrogel & Silicone Injections
It’s been said that hydrogel injections are a cheaper method of butt augmentation. This process only provides temporary results, and it doesn’t require the traditional methods of surgical procedures.
Silicone Implants
Getting silicone implants entails a solid silicone implant being surgically placed into the butt cheeks via an incision between the cheeks. Sometimes this procedure is combined with grafting, which can take up to four weeks to recover after surgery.
Liposuction
Liposuction is used to remove excess fat from specific areas of the body, including the buttocks. This procedure is mainly for contouring the booty.
Is Booty Plastic Surgery Safe?
The American Society For Aesthetic Plastic Surgery has documented that a little over 95 percent of booty surgeries are safe. However, there are still potential risks. The common side effects or risks include:
- Pain
- Skin Discoloration
- Scarring
- Excessive Bleeding Post-Surgery
- Infections
- Allergic Reactions
- Skin Loss
- Fluid / Blood Accumulation Under The Bum
- Implants Moving or Slipping Out of Place
- Fat Grafting Can Lead To Asymmetry
At-home injections can lead to severe complications, including:
- Scarring
- Infection
- Disfiguration
- Stroke
- Death
There are alternative options available for reaching specific better booty goals. Butt creams, exercise, targeted diets, and massages are a few simple and safe for us to enhance our bottoms. Squats, lunges, leg lifts, walking, and jogging are good exercises to start your journey.
Sadly, there are some terrible plastic surgery horror stories. So many have led to disfigurement, severe infections, and implant displacement. Every day, people spend thousands and thousands of dollars to get butt enhancement surgery or injections. It’s scary how many of those who chose the surgical route had to have follow-up procedures to repair the damage. Not to mention the circumstances where the damage couldn’t be reversed.
For those of you that do choose to have butt enhancements, please do your research to keep yourself as safe as possible. Look into the surgeons and facility, the procedure itself, aftercare, follow-up procedures, and stories of others who have undergone something similar.
